What a year it has been for Montridge Advisory Group! It was a year of challenges, industry pivots, and successful business moves. We have summarized the past year below, highlighting key events that made our year one for the books.
In the beginning of December we launched our brand new website. This was something we wanted to do for a while now and finally made it live. We are proud of the new look, and are excited to hear our community’s thoughts.
This year, we were presented with an exciting opportunity to join Westland Insurance’s growing Corporate Advisory and Specialty team. This opportunity launches us forward to further our capabilities as a full-service insurance firm and grow in ways that we could have never imagined.

The CPHR Expo was back live and in person this year after a 2 year hiatus. Montridge had a convention floor booth staffed by advisors, Doug Birks and Preet Pall. Attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors packed the Vancouver Convention Centre on April 26 & 27 to make a memorable event. We met some wonderful people, and plan to return to this event next year.
2022 Ask the Experts Panel
On Thursday, September 29th Montridge hosted our 6th annual “Ask the Experts” panel discussion at Steamworks Brew Pub in Gastown. We discussed industry hot topics related to employment law, taxation, employee benefits, and even the viral phenomenon of “quiet quitting” that has been taking over the internet for the past few months.
Our client appreciation event this year was Cirque Du Soleil: Alegría. What a treat it was! The show was full of exciting acrobatics, breathtaking costumes, innovative and creative sets and playful humour.
Our Thank You Breakfast Open House for our insurance and professional partners took place on December 1st at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel. It was the first one in over three years.
This was a fantastic event, which allowed people to mix and mingle with us and their peers while snacking on a variety of breakfast items. The event also raised $275 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
The team attended a workshop at Community Clay, a local pottery studio. Learning the pottery making process was difficult to say the least. Whatever we happened to make within the timeframe we got to keep after they fired and glazed them with the correct finish. There are some odd shaped bowls on people’s desks!
Casino and Company dinner
For our Christmas party this year, we visited the PARQ casino to play some games, in the hopes of winning money for a chosen charity. We were divided into two teams and each team was given $200 to start. There were 3 different rounds in which we played either Penny slots, Blackjack or Roulette for exactly five minutes. Once a round was done, each team cashed out & came back together to play a round of trivia. Before trivia started, each team had to bet some of their money on whether they'd win the trivia round or not. The winning team kept the pot and added it to their gambling funds.
At the end of all the rounds, the team with the most money was crowned the winner! The winning team’s prize was to choose which charity would receive all the proceeds. In total we raised and donated $469.75 to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, a charity that gives to families at Christmas.
The team at Montridge Advisory Group would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients, followers and everyone who makes us the business we are. The year 2022 was a year for the history books which we will never forget. Looking forward to what 2023 brings.
