More than one out of every five individuals of working age is between the ages of 55 and 64. And, there are more people in the 55 to 64 age group, than in the early-career age group of 15 to 24.
In a 2023 global survey, more than half of CEOs indicated the labour shortage is the biggest challenge their organizations face. Yet despite the current labour force challenges, less than half of employers include age in their DEI programs. Most workplaces have failed to implement a strategy to fully leverage the experience and wisdom of their older workers.
